The petitioner filed this writ petition seeking for a mandamus directing respondent Nos.1 and 2 to consider and implement 1/30^th status or give the benefits of 1/30^th salary in addition to DA and other benefits to the present petitioners and the reminder letters dated 20.12.2023 and 18.01.2024 by respondent No.2 to respondent No.1 for considering the petitioners 1/30^th status produced at Annexures-H and H1, and consider the order passed in WP No.147372 of 2020 and WP No.6669 of 2025 along with the implementation letters dated 09.09.2023 and 25.07.2025 vide Annexures-K, K1, L and L1.

Brief facts leading rise to the filing of this petition are as follows:

2.1. On 01.04.2011, a permission was granted by

respondent No.2 to respondent No.1 to engage the casual

labourers for pasting of e-stampages on contract basis. On 06.07.2011, petitioner No.1 was appointed to the post as a daily wager till date; petitioner No.2 was appointed on 01.07.2013; and petitioner No.3 was appointed on 01.08.2015. The petitioners are working more than 10 years. Their names are shown on the muster roll and muster roll is not continued for the petitioners as they are in the department till date on daily wages. Respondent No.2 submitted an official memorandum to respondent No.1 on 11.05.2023 to submit the list of casual workers for granting 1/30^th status. On 07.09.2023, respondent No.2 has sent the information to respondent No.1 with respect to grant of 1/30^th status to the casual workers with respect to the petitioners. Respondent No.1 did not pass any orders on the recommendation made by respondent No.2. Hence, this writ petition.

The learned counsel for respondent Nos.1 and 2 submits that, if reasonable time is granted to the respondents, respondent No.1 would consider the

recommendation made by respondent No.2 to respondent No.1, and pass an appropriate order in accordance with law.

i. The writ petition is allowed ;

ii. The respondents are directed to consider the recommendation made by respondent No.2 to respondent No.1, and pass an appropriate order in accordance with law within 8 weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order;
