The petitioner has filed the present petition, inter alia , praying that directions be issued to the respondents to consider his application dated 26.03.2019. Additionally, the petitioner prays that directions be issued to respondent Nos.2 to 6 to complete the process for issuance of a quarrying permit to the petitioner to remove and transport sand in terms of the letter dated 17.04.2023.

The petitioner states that on 19.11.2012, he has been granted a quarrying permit to remove and transport 1000 metric tons of sand from Payaswini river situated at Sy.No.196 of Ajjavara Village of Sullia taluk. Thereafter, the petitioner made an application dated 26.03.2019 for conducting a joint survey. It is

stated that thereafter, respondent No.3 (Deputy Director, Department of Mines and Geology) issued directions to respondent No.6 (Tahsildar) to prepare a sketch and proceed in accordance with the law. Subsequently, on 25.11.2020, respondent No.3 requested respondent No.6 to conduct a joint inspection in order to identify sand deposits as per the Sand Policy, 2020.

It is stated that in compliance with the said direction, 4 sand blocks have been identified, out of which 2 blocks have been identified in Survey No.196. The petitioner states that he had made a representation dated 04.03.2024 seeking certain reliefs.

Insofar as the petitioner's prayer in his application dated 26.03.2019 to conduct a joint survey, the same apparently does not survive as the same was for the Tahsildar to conduct a joint survey for mining and preparation of a sketch. According to the petitioner, the sand blocks have been prepared and necessary directions have also been issued.

The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner would be satisfied if directions are issued to the

concerned authorities to consider his representation dated 04.03.2024.

The learned Additional Government Advocate states that he
