The petitioner appeared in National Eligibility cum

Entrance Test (UG) - 2025 and secured ranking of 1,78,036.

In the application form to appear in National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (UG) - 2025, she claimed her mother-tongue as Kannada. She did not claim as she belonging to Telugu linguistic minority.

After the first round of counselling got over, the petitioner has produced the Study Certificate (Annexure-F), which reads as under:

Her date of birth according to our Admission register is 1^st June 2005 (First June Two Thousand Five). She belongs Hindu religion.

Her mother tongue has been changed from Kannada to Telugu vide affidavit dt: 5^th August 2025 submitted on the same day. A copy of the same is received by us for future reference. (underline supplied)

This Court fails to understand that how mothertongue can get changed from Kannada to Telugu, that too, in the year 2025. She had studied in Baldwin Girls' High School, Bengaluru, from 1^st to 10^th standards, and 11^th and 12^th standards in Christ P.U. College. She has been born and brought up in Karnataka and she has been living all through out, she never claimed as belonging to linguistic minority (Telugu). Now, after first round of counselling for MBBS admission, in pursuance of the result of National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (UG) - 2025, she has suddenly come to know that she belongs to linguistic minority (Telugu) and her mother-tongue is changed from Kannada to Telugu. The claim of the petitioner is nothing but an afterthought attempt to take admission against the seats of linguistic minority and such a claim has no basis and therefore, we have no option, but to dismiss the writ petition. Accordingly, the writ petition
