The petitioners, who are elected members of respondent No.6/Grama Panchayat, have called in question the notice dated 30.05.2025 issued by respondent No.3/Assistant Commissioner. By the said notice, fresh elections were scheduled to be held pursuant to the successful conclusion of a no-confidence motion. The elections, as per the impugned notice, were scheduled to be held today.

Learned Additional Government Advocate (AGA), on instructions, submits that the elections have already been concluded and that respondent No.8 has once again been elected as the President of the Grama Panchayat. In response to a specific query from this Court regarding the eligibility of a member who was previously removed from the post of President through a no-confidence motion to

contest again, the Learned AGA submits that there is no bar under the relevant Act prohibiting such participation.

In light of the above submissions, this Court is of the considered opinion that the writ petition has been rendered infructuous in view of the conclusion of the elections. Accordingly, the writ petition stands dismissed.
