The petitioner, an octogenarian aged 81 years, has lost his son [ Mr. Renuka Prasanna ], his daughterin-law [ Ms. Bharathi S ] and this couple's toddler, aged 10 months. The petitioner has sought directions to the respondent - the Ramanagara Police - to investigate the death of his son, based on a complaint filed by him. Mr. Pavan Kumar N and Ms. D. Manjula, the learned counsels for the petitioner, contend that this Court must intervene and issue directions because, though the demise of the son of the petitioner is under unnatural circumstances, the respondents have taken no action.

Ms. K. P. Yashoda, the learned Additonal Government Advocate, who is called upon to secure instructions, places on record that:

[a] The toddler [aged 10 months] born to Mr. Renuka Prasanna and Ms. Bharathi S died of an illness when

the couple was staying at Nelamangala, and because the toddler died a natural death, no proceedings were registered.

[b] Ms. Bharathi S committed suicide being unable to bear the loss of her young child. An Un-natural Death Register [UDR] in No.84/2023 is registered by the Byatarayanapura Police, and the statements recorded, justify the opinion that Mrs. Bharathi S. has committed suicide.

[c] Ms. Bharathi S.’s mother [Ms. Soubhagyamma] has filed a complaint alleging that the petitioner and his younger son, Mr. Manjunath, are responsible for Mr. Renuka

[d] As such, the Kudur Police (marked as Magadi Sub-Division, Ramanagara), have registered an FIR in Crime No.273/2024 and have also filed a charge sheet against the aforesaid.

In rejoinder, Mr. Pavan Kumar N and Ms. Manjula D propose to contend that they have materials to show that the child has died because of injuries and that Mrs. Bharathi has died because of the cruelty suffered by her at her matrimonial place. The afore circumstances are considered, and what emerges is that the petitioner will have to vindicate his innocence in the light of the charge sheet that is filed against him and his son, and every aspect that the petitioner proposes to rely upon will be considered in

the trial that should be with the charge sheet. Therefore, there cannot be any interference in the present petition. As such, subject to all just exceptions, the petition stands disposed of .
