The petitioner is before this Court seeking the

following prayer:

A. Issue a Writ, Order or direction in the nature of mandamus directing the Respondents to pass an appropriate order an Annexure-G bearing no. £À¸À¤/DqÀ½vÀ/2020-21/742 dated 07.11.2020 passed by Respondent No.2 considering the case of the petitioner for promotion to the cadre of first Grade Revenue Inspector with retrospective effect from 18.06.2009 the date on which the petitioner has become eligible, in the interest of justice and equity.

B. Grant any other relief to which the petitioner Is entitled under the circumstances of the case.

Heard the Learned counsel appearing for the

petitioner and the learned High Court Government Pleader for respondent No.1-State.

The petitioner is appointed as a bill collector in the respondent No. 2 municipality on 29.03.1993. The petitioner claims that he is entitled to be promoted to the cadre of First Grade Revenue Inspector from the date on which his juniors were promoted.

The learned counsel for the petitioner takes this Court through a seniority list dated 01.01.2007, in which the name of the petitioner does figure over and above the juniors who have been granted promotion to the cadre of First Grade Revenue Inspector. In that light, the petitioner has submitted a representation seeking such promotion as is granted to his juniors to the cadre of First Grade Revenue Inspector. Non- consideration of the said representation has driven him to this Court in the subject petition.

Learned HCGP would submit that if reasonable time is granted, the representation of the petitioner would merit consideration and appropriate orders would be passed in accordance with law.

In the light of the said submission, without entering upon the merits of the claim of the petitioner, I deem it appropriate

to dispose the petition with the direction to the respondent to consider the representation so submitted by the petitioner within 4 months from the date of receipt of the copy of this order, if not earlier.
