Learned counsel for the petitioner is present.

Learned counsel for respondent No.2 is absent. Learned HCGP for respondent No.1 is present.

Petitioner and respondent No.2 had a monetary transaction which gave rise to a dispute and it resulted in respondent No.2 initiating proceedings under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act and also filing a criminal complaint before the Police resulting in a charge sheet filed against the petitioner for the offences punishable under Sections 420 and 506 of IPC.

The dispute pertaining to dishonor of cheque was referred to Lok Adalat and a compromise was worked out between the parties wherein it was agreed that respondent No.2 would co-operate for dismissal of CC No.894/2020 pending on the file of the Principal Civil Judge and JMFC, Belthangady, Dakshina Kannada. petition is filed for quashing of the proceedings in

The proceedings before the Lok Adalat, wherein the parties have settled their dispute is produced for the perusal of this Court and it reveals that the parties have resolved their disputes amicably and respondent No.2 had agreed for co-operating with the petitioner for disposal of CC No.894/2020 in his favour.

On the ground that the parties have settled the dispute amicably, it is prayed that the criminal petition be allowed.

Learned HCGP for respondent No.1 has no objection for the same.

It is seen primarily that the dispute between the petitioner and respondent No.2 pertains to a monetary transaction and the parties have resolved the same amicably. No heinous crime is alleged against the
