Petitioners are the parents-in-law of respondent No.2/defacto complainant, according to whom they are unnecessarily dragged in the proceedings alleging offences punishable under Section 506, 498A, 504, 376, 323 read with Section 34 of IPC and Section 3 and 4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act. Challenging the criminal proceedings initiated against them, they have preferred this petition seeking quashing.

I have perused the complaint averments. At this stage, it cannot be said that there is no material against the petitioners. It is alleged in the complaint that even these petitioners being the parents of accused No.1 i.e., husband of

respondent No.2, have also demanded dowry and instigated accused No.1 etc.

Learned counsel for the petitioner has sought permission of the Court to withdraw the petition with liberty to challenge the charge sheet, if any filed against the petitioners.
