The proceedings in C.C.No.54/2023 on the file of the Principal Civil Judge and JMFC, Karkala, has been registered by virtue of a marital dispute between the petitioner and her husband and her father-in-law, who is the complainant.

It is submitted that the dispute between the petitioner and her husband gave rise to several disputes both civil and criminal proceedings. Subsequently, the parties have compromised and have resolved their disputes amicably. In the process, the proceedings in the instant criminal petition was also referred to Mediation and the matter has been settled between the parties. It is prayed by both the counsel for the petitioner as well as respondent No.2 that the proceedings initiated against the petitioner in C.C.No.54/2023 be quashed.

Learned High Court Government Pleader appearing for respondent No.1 has no objection for the same.

It is seen that the dispute between the parties is essentially civil in nature, which has been given a criminal colour and the parties have now amicably resolved their

disputes. The offences alleged and the material produced do

not indicate that any heinous offence is committed by the petitioner herein and the interest of justice would be served if the Mediation report is accepted and the proceedings in C.C.No.54/2023 is quashed as it only helps the contesting parties to lead their respective lives peacefully and cordially.
