This petition is filed by the husband and in-laws of second respondent- complainant seeking quashing of the proceedings in C.C.No.36718/2024 pending on the file of the XXXIX Addl. Chief Judicial Magistrate, Bengaluru, for the offence punishable under Sections 498-A, 323, 34 of IPC read with Sections 3 & 4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act, 1961.

Today, a joint affidavit has been filed before this

Court, and the second respondent is present in person. She submits that she has rejoined the marital home of the first petitioner/husband. It is further stated that, in view of

the intervention of the family members, both the first petitioner/husband and the second respondent/wife have

now moved out of the original family residence and have made arrangements for a separate residence for themselves.

In light of the reconciliation and reunion of the second respondent with the first petitioner/husband, this Court is of the view that no purpose would be served in allowing the proceedings in C.C.No.36718/2024 to continue. In the interest of justice and considering the parties’ willingness to maintain their marital relationship, the criminal proceedings are liable to be quashed.

Accordingly, this Court proceeds to pass the following:

(i) The Criminal Petition is allowed;

(ii) The proceedings in C.C.No.36718/2024, arising out of Crime No.33/2024 registered by
