THIS WRIT PETITION IS FILED UNDER ARTICLES 226 OF THE CONSTITUTION OF INDIA TO ISSUE A WRIT, DIRECTION OR ORDER IN THE NATURE OF MANDAMUS, DIRECTING THE RESPONDENTS TO CONSTITUTE A LAND TRIBUNAL AT BHALKI AND DISPOSE OF THE CASE AS PER THE DIRECTION ISSUED BY THE HONOURABLE HIGH COURT, BANGALORE IN WP NO. 3124/1996 DATED 16.3.2005 AND ETC.

In this petition, petitioners seek for the following reliefs:-

“ a) Issue a writ, direction or order in the nature of Mandamus, directing the respondents to constitute a Land Tribunal at Bhalki and dispose of the case as per the direction issued by the Hon’ble High Court, Bangalore in W.P.No.3124/1996 dated: 16.03.2005.

b) Pass such other orders, as the petitioner is entitled to in the facts and circumstances of the case, in the interest of justice and equity.”

Heard learned counsel for the petitioners and learned

HCGP for the respondents and perused the material on record.

It is the grievance of the petitioners that the respondents may be directed to constitute a Land Tribunal at Bhalki and dispose of the case as per the directions issued by the co-ordinate Bench of this Court in W.P.No.3124/1996 dated 16.03.2005.

Per contra, learned HCGP for the respondents submits that if reasonable time is given, they would consider and pass appropriate orders / take appropriate steps in this regard.

In view of the aforesaid facts and circumstances and rival submissions, the concerned respondents are directed to constitute a Land Tribunal at Bhalki, if not already constituted, as on today and dispose of the case / proceedings as per the directions issued by the co-ordinate Bench of this Court in W.P.No.3124/1996 dated 16.03.2005, as expeditiously as possible.
