This petition came to be filed by the petitioner - student aspiring to be considered for admission to the medical and engineering course for the academic year 2024-25. The principal grievance and prayer of the petitioner was to direct respondent No.1 - State of Karnataka and respondent No.2 - Karnataka Examination Authority to permit him to participate in the online counseling for CET - 2024, which was conducted by the Karnataka Education Authority (KEA) as per Notification dated 09.01.2024.
from Bengaluru, Karnataka and he has also appeared and passed the XII Standard examination.

stated that the petitioner who is a OCI card holder shall be treated along with citizens for the purpose of considering his claim on merits in general category in Under Graduate courses in Medical, Dental and Engineering for the academic year 2024-25 and the admission if available on merits shall be given to the petitioner in general category.
