7. A plain reading of the above Rule makes it very clear that 20% additional quantum of pension has to be awarded only after completion of 80 years of age. Respondent No.1 would complete the age of 80 years on 20.06.2020 and from 21.06.2020, he is entitled to 20% additional quantum of pension. Therefore, we are of the considered view that the finding recorded by the learned Single Judge that the petitioner is entitled to 20% additional quantum of pension, once he steps into the age of 80 years is not correct and the same is contrary to Rule 2-A of Rules 1972. It is to be noted that the petitioner is entitled to 20% additional quantum of pension from 21.06.2020. With that observation, the impugned order of the learned Single Judge passed in the aforesaid writ petition is modified. The endorsement dated 29.12.2020 quashed by the learned Single Judge is upheld and the matter is remitted back to the appellants to pass appropriate orders on the representation of the petitioner dated 10.1.2022 bearing in mind the observation made herein above in the course of this order. The appellants shall complete the process within six months from the date of receipt of copy of this judgment, failing which, the petitioner would be entitled to interest at 6%
