2010 due to burn inquiries on account of electric shock. It is stated in the plaint that, on 10th December, 2010 at about 4.00 p.m., the deceased Shivaram, while he was proceeding towards agricultural land situate in Yarapalya Village, Pavagada Taluk, live electric wire connected to the TC was laying on the road and the deceased Shivaram without observing the same, proceeded and came into contact with the live wire resulting in receiving electric shock and sustained burn injuries. Immediately, after the occurrence of the incidence, the deceased Shivaram was shifted to Government Hospital at Pavagada and thereafter, he was shifted to Victoria Hospital, Bengaluru for better treatment. However, he succumbed to injuries on 14th December, 2010. Police have registered case in UDR No.397/2010 under Section 176 of the Criminal Procedure Code and same was transferred to jurisdictional Police Station at Pavagada. It is the case of the plaintiffs that the death of their son was on account of negligence on the part of the respondent-BESCOM and therefore, plaintiffs have filed Original Suit No.48 of 2015 before the Trial Court, seeking compensation by way of damages in respect of death of their son Shivaram.
