Section 166 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, seeking compensation of Rs.20,00,000/- with interest at the rate of 18% from the date of petition till realization for the injuries sustained by him in a road traffic accident that occurred on 26.02.2020. It was pleaded that when claimant was riding motorcycle bearing registration No.KA-16 EN-7297 with all due diligence near Navodaya School, Devarahalli village, tractor bearing registration No.KA-35 T-6643 driven by its driver in a rash and negligent manner, dashed the motorcycle. Consequently, the claimant fell down and sustained grievous injuries. It was further pleaded that the claimant was shifted to Government Hospital, Devarahalli and thereafter to Bapuji Hospital, SSIMS Hospital, Davanagere and Kasturba Hospital, Manipal for treatment. It was also pleaded that due to the accident, claimant suffered permanent physical disability and lost his earning capacity.
