Sub-inspector of Police (Crimes), Malur Police Station while on patrolling duty along with his staff, in and around Malur-Hosur Road, received a credible information that 5 to 6 persons were making preparation to commit dacoity by stopping the vehicles near Chikka Tirupati cross on Hosur Road. Immediately, he went to the spot at around 4.30 a.m., and noticed a Tata Ace vehicle parked near Chikka Tirupati cross and three persons standing in front of the vehicle and two persons were sitting inside the vehicle and one person was standing behind the vehicle. On seeing the police, one person escaped and others were surrounded and apprehended. The accused who were apprehended disclosed the name of the accused who escaped from the spot as one Chandra, S/o Chinnappa (accused no.6). The accused confessed that they were making preparation to commit dacoity by stopping the vehicles plying on Hosur-Hoskote road. The accused and the vehicle along with the weapons were brought to the police station. A mahazar was drawn as per Ex.P8 and the Tata Ace vehicle bearing registration No.KA-25/ B-6693, three clubs, two iron rods and a chopper (MO's1 to 7) were seized in the presence of panch witnesses.
