Petitioners are before this Court seeking to quash the FIR in Crime No.24 of 2019 registered for offences punishable under Sections 498A, 323, 504, 506, 114 of the IPC and under Sections 3, 4 and 6 of the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005 pending before the Additional Civil Judge and JMFC, Mandya in C.C.No.613 of 2020.

The parties to the lis were also before the Division Bench in M.F.A.No.4148 of 2024 challenging the judgment and decree passed in M.C.No.24 of 2019 dated 22.3.2024. When the matter was referred to Mediation by the Division Bench, the parties have resolved the dispute amongst themselves before the Mediation by entering into compromise before the Karnataka Mediation Centre, Bengaluru.

Learned counsel for petitioners submits that Rs.25 lakhs has already been handed over to the complainant and now a demand draft for Rs.10 lakhs is being handed over along

with other two items as indicated in the memo dated 03-122024.

Since the offences alleged against the petitioners are

punishable under Sections 498A inter alia which are not against the State or the Society, and in the light of the settlement arrived at between the parties as aforesaid before the Division Bench, I deem it appropriate to close the present proceedings on recording that the matter has been settled before the Division Bench.

For the aforesaid reasons, the following:

(i) Criminal Petition is disposed.

(ii) The impugned proceedings in C.C.No.613 of 2020 (Crime No.24 of 2019) pending on the file of Additional Civil Judge and JMFC, Mandya stands quashed qua the petitioners.
