This petition is filed by accused Nos. 1 and 2

under Section 482 Cr.P.C. seeking quashing of entire proceedings in crime No. 13/2024 of Gangavathi Rural Police Station registered for offence punishable under Sections 498-A, 504, 506, 149 of IPC and Sections 3 and 4 of Dowry Prohibition Act (hereinafter for the sake of brevity referred to as the `D.P. Act’).

On the complaint filed by respondent No. 2

dated 18.01.2024 a case came to be registered against the petitioners and 5 others in crime No. 13/2024 of Gangavathi Rural Police Station for the aforesaid offences. Petitioners have sought for quashing of the proceedings in crime No. 13/2024.

Respondent No. 2 is present before the Court and submits that she has settled the matter with the petitioners. Petitioner No. 1 is present before the Court. A compromise petition under Section 320 of Cr.P.C. is filed and it is signed by petitioner Nos. 1 and 2 and respondent No. 2. Respondent No. 2 has stated in the said petition that the matter is settled out of Court and she will withdraw the complaint and she has no objection for quashing the proceedings against the petitioners. Respondent No. 2 who is present before the Court submits that there is no coercion or pressure to enter into the compromise.
