was working as a Teacher and the complainant was also working as a Teacher. On 25.07.2002, the complainant’s sister Smt.Rudramma died unnaturally and after the death of Rudramma, the accused No.1 in collision with other accused, started to ill treat the complainant and demanding her to give consent for the third marriage. It is further alleged that, the accused No.1 married accused No.11 as his third marriage. To legalize the said marriage, the complainant was pressurized to give her consent. As she did not give consent for the third marriage or legalize the third marriage, the accused persons have assaulted and beat her indiscriminately and also threatened her that if she would not give consent on or before 30.06.2003, she would be killed. Being aggrieved by the act of all accused persons, the complainant filed a complaint before the Magistrate and it was referred to Cowl Bazaar Police Station, Bellary. The jurisdictional police have filed ‘B’ Report before the Magistrate, after being protested, the ‘B’ Report has been set-aside and sworn statement of the complainant and the other witnesses have been recorded. After perusing the sworn statement, cognizance of the offence has been taken by the Trial Court and registered the private complaint as criminal case.
