1. Heard learned counsel for the parties.

The instant writ application has been preferred by the petitioner praying for a direction upon the respondent authorities to calculate and pay the amount of monetary compensation in lieu of compassionate appointment which is admissible to the female dependents, upon the death of the employee, where compassionate appointment is not granted and the petitioner has also prayed for grant of cost and damages.

3. It appears from record that the petitioner is daughter-in-law of the deceased employee, who died in harness on 02.12.1998. Now, we are sitting in the year 2026, therefore, this Court is of the firm view that compassionate appointment cannot be granted to this petitioner. Since the petitioner has also prayed for

monetary compensation, accordingly, without waiting for the counter-affidavit of the respondents, interest of justice would be sufficed by directing the petitioner to approach the respondent no. 4 along with all the relevant documents, what is in her possession for the claim of monetary compensation.

It goes without saying that the concerned respondent shall verify the records of the case and pass an appropriate order with regard to payment of monetary compensation within a period of 6 weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order, and the entire amount which would be calculated shall be paid to the petitioner within a further period of 2 weeks.

5. Accordingly, the writ application stands disposed of.
