This public interest litigation has been preferred by the petitioner for a direction upon the respondents to issue broad guidelines for investigation relating to cyber and digital crimes, for establishment of cyber cell at all districts in the State, for giving cyber and digital training to the Police personnel to overcome the alarming situation of cyber related crime, for deployment of cyber equipped mobile van at district level on the line of PCR which will reach the site of crime in a fast mode, for appointment of qualified cyber personnel. Various instances have been highlighted by the
petitioner with respect to the growing concern over cyber crime and the inability of the State to counter such crimes.
Affidavits have been filed by the State from which it appears that several steps have been taken to curb the growing menaces of cyber-crime and specialized unit of Cyber Police has also been constituted who are equipped with the necessary equipment for preventing such crime.
Since sufficient steps have been taken by the respondents State in minimizing the cyber-crime which has engulfed the State of Jharkhand for more than a decade, we are not inclined therefore to proceed further in this public interest litigation which accordingly stands disposed of. Pending interlocutory application, if any, stands closed.
