06/07.08.2020 Heard Mr. N.K. Sahani, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr. N.K. Gaunjhu, learned A.P.P. for the State. Notice appears to have been validly served.
The petitioner has prayed for grant of anticipatory bail, as he is apprehending his arrest in connection with B.S. City P.S. Case No. 273 of 2018.
The marriage of the informant was solemnized with the petitioner in the year 2011. It has been alleged that she was regularly abused by the petitioner at the instigation of her mother-in-law. On account of such torture she had consumed phenyl.
It therefore, appears that the petitioner was instrumental in the attempts made by the informant to commit suicide.
Regard being had to the above, I am not inclined to extend the privilege of anticipatory bail to the petitioner. This application accordingly stands rejected.
