Heard Mrs. Kanchan Kumari, learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner.
Nobody appears on behalf of the respondent-State.
The petitioner has preferred this writ petition for direction to consider the case of the petitioner for promotion to the post of Joint Secretary. One of the argument of the petitioner is that persons, who were junior to the petitioner has been considered and they have been promoted to the post of Joint Secretary whereas the petitioner has been left out.
Learned counsel for the petitioner draws the attention of this court to the gradation list and submits that the name of this petitioner is at serial no. 168 whereas the person, who is placed at serial no.170 has been provided the promotion on the post of Joint Secretary.
As no assistance has been made by the respondent-State, this Court directs that respondent no.2 to consider the case of the petitioner for promotion on the post of Joint Secretary in the light of the argument advanced by the learned counsel for the petitioner that the juniors to the petitioner have been promoted to that post.
The respondent no.2 shall consider the case of the petitioner and if, necessary will place the matter before the Departmental Promotion Committee as early as possible but not later than eight weeks’ from the date of receipt/production of copy of this order.
With the above observation and direction, this writ petition stands disposed of.
