Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned APP appearing for the State.
The petitioner is an accused in connection with S.T. No. 178 of 2018 arising out of Rajnagar P.S. Case No. 62 of 2018 (G.R. No. 813 of 2018), pending before the Court of learned Sessions Judge at Seraikella.
It has been alleged that five persons including the petitioner had forcibly entered into the house of the informant and one Champa Murmu had assaulted the mother of the informant with a sharp cutting weapon. The others had pressed her neck.
The First Information Report clearly reveals that it was the petitioner who had dashed the head of the deceased on the ground. Moreover, it appears that two witnesses have already been examined in course of trial.
Regard being had to the nature of allegation apart from the fact that the trial is progressing, I am not inclined to grant bail to him. The prayer for bail made by the petitioner is hereby rejected with a direction to the learned trial court to expedite the trial.
