The Petitioner, in the instant Petition, has prayed for the grant of

following relief(s) in his favour:

I. By issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, or any other appropriate Writ, order or direction, the respondents be directed to promote the petitioner to the next higher post of Senior Assistant retrospectively from the date he became due for such promotion as per the decision taken on 9^th of January, 2013, i.e., when the DPC meeting was convened in this behalf and his promotion was approved by the DPC as same shall be in the interest of justice and equity;

II. By issuance of a Writ of mandamus, or any other Writ, order or direction, the respondents be directed to give the benefit of promotion of the petitioner on the post of Senior Assistant retrospectively and, accordingly, release all service benefits accruing subsequent thereto in favour of the petitioner under rules by giving same and similar treatment to the petitioner as has been given to other similarly situated persons with the petitioner as same shall be in the interest of justice and equity; and

III. Any other Writ, order or direction, which this Hon’ble Court deems fit and proper in the attending facts and circumstances

of the case, may also be passed in favour of the petitioner and against the respondents.”

Going by the nature of relief sought for, this Petition, at this

stage, is disposed of with a direction to the Respondents to consider the claim of the Petitioner as espoused in the Writ Petition and pass appropriate orders thereon in accordance with the law and the rules governing the field. Let a speaking order, in this behalf, be passed by the Respondents expeditiously, preferably within eight weeks from today. The Petitioner may, on his part, supply a copy of Writ Petition, along with all its annexures as well as Order passed today, in the office of Respondents so as to facilitate an early decision in the matter.
