This Public Interest Litigation was initiated on account of non-use of the office building at Sandhole, District Mandi, H.P.

The said superstructure has been raised at the cost of Rs.7,46,06,346/-. On 24.04.2025 the following order was passed :

“Learned Additional Advocate General prays for time to file an affidavit as to whether the combined office building at Sandhole, District Mandi, H.P., has been utilised for the

purposes, for which it was constructed and the number of offices which have been shifted and whether it has been occupied by any Government office.

To come up on 19.06.2025.”

In pursuance of the said order, the Executive

Engineer/Superintending Engineer, Dharampur Division has

filed his affidavit, wherein, it has been mentioned as under:-

“3. That in compliance to the direction of Hon’ble Court, the deponent states that the construction of the Combined Office Building at Sandhole in Tehsil Dharampur, District Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, has been completed in all respects.

4. That after completion, the building has been handed over to the Sub Divisional Magistrate (Civil) Dharampur/Sandole and the said authority has allotted the building floors to various Government departments, and the following departments have occupied the same.

i. Agriculture department and Police Chowki on the 1^st floor.

¶19

ii. Police Officer Offices and Treasury Office on the 2^nd floor.

¶20

iii. Tehsildar office and Horticulture Department Office on the 3^rd floor.

¶21

iv. Jal Shakti Vibhag and Public Works Department offices on the 4^th floor. v. Silk Technology Cum Demonstration and training centre Department on Attic floor.

5. That now, the building is being utilized for the purposes for which it was constructed, and the offices have been shifted and occupied by the respective departments.”
