The petitioner is the claimant before the learned Arbitrator. This petition moved under Section 29-A of the Arbitration & Conciliation Act, 1996 (in short ‘the Act’), seeks extension of time for completion of arbitral proceedings by six months w.e.f. 20.12.2024.

2. Learned Senior Counsel for the petitioner submits that the arbitral proceedings are at the final stages. The petitioner/claimant has completed his submissions before the learned Arbitrator. However, the period allowed for passing the final award has elapsed on

20.12.2024. Hence, prayer has been made in this petition moved under Section 29-A of the Act for further extension of the mandate of Arbitral Tribunal.

Taking note of the submissions made by learned counsel on both sides as also keeping in view the fact that the matter is at the stage of arguments and the petitioner has already completed his submissions before the Arbitral Tribunal, the period for completion of arbitral proceedings including the passing of final award is extended by six months w.e.f. 20.12.2024.
