Petitioners in this Writ petition question Annexure P-6 by which the Rules have been framed on 13.3.2024 for filling up the posts of Agriculture Extension Officers through direct recruitment upto 90% and 10% by promotion and deleting the Rule followed before 2017 following batch-wise recruitment.

Though, counsel for the petitioners has pointed out that in other Government Departments as well as in Agriculture Department, certain posts on batch-wise recruitment are pursued, we are not inclined

to direct the State to make such a rule since it is not the province of this Court to decide how a particular post is to be filled up and it is within the purview of the respondents.

Therefore, granting liberty to the petitioners to submit a representation to first respondent with regard to the method of recruitment to the post of Agriculture Extension Officers, through batchwise recruitment within four weeks, and directing the first respondent to decide the same within four weeks thereafter, on receipt of the said representation, this Writ petition is disposed of.

Pending applications, if any, also stand disposed of.
