Rule. Learned advocate Ms.Contractor, waives service of notice of Rule on behalf of the respondents.

In the present writ petition, the petitioner has sought for the following prayers.

“13(B) This Hon’ble Court may be pleased to issue appropriate writ or direction in nature of Mandamus or any other writ to respondents thereby directing them to decide application dated 02.02.2021 also thereby directing respondent to change name of present petitioner from Shivas Ankit Barot to Om Ankit Barot in the interest of justice.”

Thus, the petitioner is only seeking direction to decide his application dated 02.02.2021, which has been made by him for change in the name of his son from “Shivas Ankit Barot” to “Om Ankit Barot”, which is published in Gujarat Government Gazette Part-II dated 02.04.2020, where the name of the son of

the petitioner is mentioned at serial No.230. In the said Gazette, the name of the son of the petitioner changed from “Shivas Ankit Barot” to “Om Ankit Barot”, however the respondent No.2 has not decided his application seeking change in the birth certificate of his son.

In view of these disputed facts, the respondent No.2 is directed to decide the application dated 02.02.2021 filed by the petitioner seeking change in the name of his son, within a period of eight (8) weeks from the date of receipt of writ of this order.

With the aforementioned observations and directions, the present petition is allowed. Rule is made absolute.
