On 15.09.2026 Court passed the following order:-
“ Ms. B. Bhuyan, learned senior counsel appearing for the BTC submits that the petitioner has challenged the Notification dated 10.10.2025 by which the Municipal Board & Urban Development Authority under the BTC has been dissolved with immediate effect. She submits that the said Notification however has been recalled/withdrawn vide Notification dated 16.02.2026 and therefore, the writ petition has become infructuous. She submits that the appointment of the petitioner as Chairman of the Kokrajhar Development Authority was by the earlier Government and was conterminous to the said Government in the BTC. Now since there is a new Government in place, nothing survives in the writ petition.
Mr. P. Bhardwaj, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner however submits that he may be given 2(two) days time to seek instructions from his client.
In view of above, list the matter on 16.09.2026 in the ‘For Referral to the Special Mediation Drive-Mediation ‘For the Nation’ column .”
Today, Mr. P Bhardwaj, learned counsel for the petitioner, on instructions,
submits that the matter has become infructuous.
In view of above, the writ petition stands disposed of as infructuous.
