Heard Mr. P. Handique, learned counsel for the petitioners and Mr. D. Nath, learned counsel for all the respondents.

The writ petitioners, 9 [nine] in nos., have approached this Court by the present writ petition seeking inter alia a direction to the respondent no. 5, that is, the Executive Officer, Lanka Municipal Board and the respondent no. 6, that is, the Chairman, Lanka Municipal Board to consider the allotment of Vitas/rooms to the petitioners in the Business Centre, Lanka.

Both Mr. Handique and Mr. Nath have submitted that during the pendency of the writ petition nine nos. of space of Vitas, that is, Space of Vita at Sl. No. 43, 46, 45, 41, 47, 42, 49, 44, 48 at the 1^st floor of the Business Centre, Lanka have been allotted to the petitioners vide an Order dated 05.01.2026 passed by the respondent no. 5.

The learned counsel for the parties have submitted that in view of the allotment to the petitioners nine nos. of space of Vitas, the subject-matter of the writ petition has become infructuous as the petitioners have got the necessary relief.

In view of the conjoint submission made by the learned counsel for the parties in the afore-stated manner, the writ petition having been rendered infructuous, is closed.

A copy of the Order bearing no. LMB-1/2025/1294-1300 dated 05.01.2026 passed by the respondent no. 5 is kept with the case record by marking it as Document ‘X’.
