The appellant/Insurance Company is represented. The respondents/claimants are also present.

It has been submitted that the parties have agreed to a total settlement amount of Rs. 25,00,000/- as a full and final settlement of all claims of the respondents against the impugned Judgment and Award dated 14.12.2022 in MAC Case No. 96/2016, passed by the Learned Member, MACT, Cachar, Silchar.

Accordingly, the matter is settled on compromise in terms of the presettlement/compromise slip for the National Lok Adalat, which is made a part of the record.

Both parties shall affix their signatures to the pre-settlement compromise

slip as a token of acceptance of the settlement.

Accordingly, the National Insurance Co. Ltd. shall deposit the settlement amount of Rs. 25,00,000/- in favor of the respondents before the Registry of this Court within a period of 45 days from the date of this settlement order, failing which the amount shall carry interest at the rate of 9% per annum until the date of deposit.

The said amount shall be disbursed to the respondents in the following proportion as agreed to by the parties:

Rs. 17,00,000/- to respondent No. 1, Suma Das.

Rs. 8,00,000/- to respondent No. 2, Sandhya Rani Das.

The Registry shall disburse the amount as per procedure.

¶36

On furnishing proof of the deposit of the entire settlement amount, the Registry shall release the statutory deposit made by the appellant, if any.

The matter is disposed of in this Lok Adalat.
