The appellant/Insurance Company is represented. Respondent Nos. 1, 2,

and 3 are present, and respondent No. 4, being a minor, is represented by respondent No. 1.

It has been submitted that the parties have agreed to a total settlement amount of Rs. 26,50,000/- as a full and final settlement of all claims against the impugned Judgment and Award dated 24.06.2024 in MAC Case No. 1284/2016, passed by the Learned Member, MACT, Cachar, Silchar.

Out of this, an amount of Rs. 9,81,250/- has already been paid. The remaining amount of Rs. 16,68,750/- shall be deposited by the National Insurance Co. Ltd. before the Registry of this Court within a period of 45 days from the date of this settlement order, failing which the amount shall carry interest at the rate of 9% per annum until the date of deposit.

Out of the said remaining amount of Rs. 16,68,750/-, an amount of Rs. 2,00,000/- shall be kept in a fixed deposit in the name of respondent No. 4 (minor), who shall be at liberty to withdraw the same upon attaining majority, and the balance amount of Rs. 14,68,750/- shall be disbursed to respondent No. 1.

Accordingly, the matter is settled on compromise in terms of the presettlement/compromise slip for the National Lok Adalat, which is made a part of the record.

Both parties shall affix their signatures to the pre-settlement compromise

slip as a token of acceptance of the settlement.

The Registry shall disburse the amount as per procedure.

Upon furnishing proof of the deposit of the entire settlement amount, the

Registry shall release the statutory deposit made by the appellant, if any.

The matter is disposed of in this Lok Adalat.
