The appellant/Insurance Company is represented. The respondent/claimant is present.

It has been submitted that the parties have agreed to a total settlement amount of Rs. 10,50,000/- as a full and final settlement of all claims against the impugned Judgment and Award dated 12.07.2023 in NECESSARY(WC) Case No. 28/2016, passed by the Commissioner for the Employees Compensation cum

Assistant Labour Commissioner, Nagaon. Out of the total amount of Rs.

10,50,000/-, an amount of Rs. 3,50,000/- has already been paid/deducted, and the remaining balance of Rs. 7,00,000/- remains to be paid.

Accordingly, the matter is settled on compromise in terms of the presettlement/compromise slip for the National Lok Adalat, which is made a part of the record.

Both parties shall affix their signatures to the pre-settlement compromise slip as a token of acceptance of the settlement.

Accordingly, the National Insurance Co. Ltd. shall deposit the remaining settlement amount of Rs. 7,00,000/- before the Registry of this Court within a period of 45 days from the date of this settlement order, failing which the amount shall carry interest at the rate of 9% per annum until the date of deposit.

The Registry shall disburse the amount to the respondent, Babita Devi, upon proper verification and as per procedure.

Upon furnishing proof of the deposit of the entire settlement amount, the Registry shall release the statutory deposit made by the appellant, if any.

The matter is disposed of in this Lok Adalat.
