Heard Mr. J. C. Borah, learned counsel for the applicant.
This is an application praying for impleadment of one Prof. (Dr.) Babul Kumar Bezbaruah, Principal-cum-Chief Superintendent, Gauhati Medical College & Hospital, Guwahati, as alleged contemnor No. 2 in the connected contempt petition, being Cont. Cas(C) No. 487/2024.
It is submitted that the person sought to be impleaded as alleged contemnor in the connected contempt petition is the new incumbent and therefore, would be a necessary party for consideration of the contempt petition. Accordingly, it is prayed that he may be allowed to be impleaded as alleged contemnor No. 2.
Having considered that during the pendency of the connected Cont. Cas(C) No. 487/2024, Prof. (Dr.) Babul Kumar Bezbaruah has been posted and is serving as Principal-cum-Chief Superintendent, Gauhati Medical College & Hospital, Guwahati, I am of the considered view that he would be a necessary party in the connected contempt petition. Thus, I deem it appropriate to allow this interlocutory application.
Accordingly, Prof. (Dr.) Babul Kumar Bezbaruah, Principal-cum-Chief Superintendent, Gauhati Medical College & Hospital, Guwahati, is allowed to be
