The instant application has been preferred by the applicant praying for stay of the judgment and award dated 29.10.2025, passed in MAC Case No. 06/2023 by the learned Member, MACT, Udalguri, Assam.

The learned counsel Mr. S. Chouhan is present for respondent/ claimant. The learned counsel for the applicant submits that the applicants have filed an appeal against the judgment and award dated 29.10.2025, passed in MAC Case No. 06/2023, passed by the learned MACT, Udalguri.

It is stated that the applicants have filed an appeal against the said impugned judgment and the appeal has already been admitted by this Court. He further prays that the operation of the impugned judgment and award may be stayed till the disposal of the connected appeal otherwise applicants will suffer irreparable loss and injury.

This Court has considered the submission of the learned counsel for the applicant and is of the view that the application can be allowed at this stage. Accordingly, impugned order dated 29.10.2025 passed in MAC Case No. 06/2023, passed by the learned MACT, Udalguri is suspended till the disposal of the connected MAC appeal, subject to the condition that the applicant shall deposit 50% of the awarded amount before the Registry of this Court within 6 weeks from today.
