1. Heard Mr. K. Thakur, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner. Also heard Mr. R.J. Baruah, learned APP appearing for the State of Assam.
2. By an order dated 24.08.2026 this Court had called for a report from the concerned police station as to whether any case had been registered against the petitioner. When the matter is taken up today Mr. R.J. Baruah, learned APP has

placed on record an instruction informing that as per the information received from the police personnel of Dispur Police Station no case has been registered against the petitioner, namely, Sofikul Islam.
3. In view of the aforesaid instruction, the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that the matter may be closed.
4. The prayer is allowed.
5. The instruction dated 15.09.2026 is taken on record.
6. This anticipatory application stands disposed of.
