Betting Act, this application under Section 482 of the BNSS, is preferred by applicant namely, Abdul Aziz, for grant of pre-arrest bail.

It is to be noted here that the above noted case has been registered on the basis of one FIR lodged by S.I Jitul Das, on 31.05.2026.

The petitioner was granted interim bail on 28.07.2026 with conditions.

The Case Diary has been received and the learned Additional PP, Mr. Goswami, confirms that pursuant to the grant of interim, the petitioner has appeared before the I.O and his statement has been recorded.

It is submitted that there are materials against the petitioner with regard to involvement in IPL betting, which violates the provisions of Assam Game and Betting Act, 1970. Though, the investigation has revealed implications against the petitioner, nevertheless, considering his co-operation rendered to the investigation, it may not be necessary to cancel his interim bail. Therefore, the said bail is made absolute, subject to the condition that the petitioner shall cooperate with the remaining investigation; he shall not tamper or hamper with evidence; and shall not indulge in any activities violative of Assam Games and Betting Act, 1970.
