Gauhati High Court (Hon'ble Mr. Justice Robin Phukan), Order dated 12-11-2025 in WP(C)/6344/2025 — Dhamdhama Sr Sec School v. State of Assam. The petitioner school, stated to have served as the designated Higher Secondary Final Examination centre for 36 years, was aggrieved by the Final List of examination centres for H.S. Final Examination, 2026, in which its centre was shifted to Dhamdhama H.S. Heard Mr. S. Choudhury, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr. S. M. T. Chistie, learned Standing Counsel for the respondent Nos. 1 & 4. Also heard Mr. T. C. Chutia, learned Standing Counsel for the respondent Nos. 2 & 3. None appears for the respondent No. 5.

2. The petitioner herein is Dhamdhama Senior Secondary School, Nalbari, represented by Dr. Jogesh Chandra Lahkar, Academic-in-Charge and is aggrieved by the Final List of examination centre for H.S. Final Examination, 2026, issued by the respondent authorities.

Mr. Choudhury, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner school has been serving as the designated examination centre for Higher Secondary Final Examination for the past 36 years. As per the notification issued by the respondent authorities, dated 20.05.2025, the petitioner school, along with Luit Academy Sr. Secondary School and

Dhamdhama H.S. School, were proposed to share DhamdhamaAnchalik College as the common examination centre. However, in the final list, the petitioner’s centre was shifted to Dhamdhama H.S. School, without adherence to the prescribed guidelines.

3.1 Mr. Choudhury, further submits that the petitioner herein has filed one representation on 15.09.2025, before the respondent No. 2, for continuation of H.S. Final Examination Centre of Dhamdhama Senior Secondary School, but the respondent authorities have not yet disposed of the said representation and as such, he submits that this writ petition may be disposed of by directing the respondent authorities to dispose of the representation, dated 15.09.2025, filed by the Academic in-charge of the petitioner school herein.

4. Mr. Chutia, learned Standing Counsel for the respondent Nos. 2 & 3 and Mr. S. M. T. Chistie, learned Standing Counsel for the respondent Nos. 1 & 4 submits that they have no objection in the event of disposing of this petition, by directing the respondent Nos. 2 & 3, to dispose of the representation filed by the Academic in-charge of the petitioner school.

5. Accordingly, taking note of the submission of the learned counsels for both the parties, this Court is inclined to dispose of this petition by directing the petitioner to file a fresh representation before the respondent Nos. 2 & 3, along with a certified copy of this order, and this petition and the documents enclosed therewith and on such representation being filed by the petitioner school, the respondent authorities, especially respondent Nos. 2 & 3; shall consider and dispose of the same by a speaking order.

6. The aforementioned exercise shall be carried out within a period of 4 weeks from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order.The petitioner shall obtain a certified copy of this order and place the same before the

7. In terms of the above, this writ petition stands disposed of.
