Heard Mr. A. Mannaf, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr. D. K. Roy, learned Standing Counsel for ASSEB.

2. By filing this writ petition, the petitioner has prayed for a direction to the Assam State School Education Board (ASSEB) to re-check and re-evaluate his answer script of English subject of the HSLC Examination, 2025.

The respondent ASSEB, by filing an affidavit, has categorically stated that in response to the claim of the petitioner, a subject expert was appointed to reexamine the answers to the specific questions for which rechecking and reevaluation had been sought in the English subject of the petitioner, who had appeared in and passed the HSLC Examination, 2025. Upon such re-examination by the expert, it has been found that the petitioner would be entitled to an additional 5 (five) marks in the English subject. In view of the above, appropriate and consequential action to be followed.

Having considered that the grievance of the petitioner has been redressed by the respondent ASSEB that, upon re-examination, the petitioner is entitled to an additional 5 (five) marks in the English subject, I am of the view that no further adjudication is required in this writ petition. Accordingly, the same deserves to be closed.
