The petitioner’s prayer is for a direction to be issued to the respondents to pay the vehicle hire charges relating to Force Traveler bearing registration no. AS-01-KC-5541, for the period from March, 2021 to May, 2023, by the respondent no.3.

The affidavit of the respondent no.3 is to the effect that the petitioner is liable to be paid vehicle hire charges amounting to Rs.36,62,220/- for the period from April, 2021 to March, 2022 and Rs.17,41,248/- for the period from April, 2022 to September, 2022, thereby totaling Rs.54,00,000/- approximately. On the other hand, paragraph-8 & 9 of the affidavit filed by the respondent no.3 shows that the respondents have admitted that the outstanding amount payable to the petitioner is Rs.12,05,874/-.

This Court, vide order dated 22.05.2025, had directed Mr. R. Talukdar, learned counsel for the respondent nos.2, 3 & 7 to obtain instructions as to the specific period for which Rs.12,05,874/- was to be paid to the petitioner, as vehicle hire charges.

Mr. R. Talukdar, learned counsel for the respondent nos.2, 3 & 7 has submitted letter no.GNZ-27/2019/757 dated 23.05.2025 issued by the office of the District Commissioner, Goalpara and an attached Statement of pending bills of the petitioner’s vehicle, which is to the effect that the outstanding dues payable to the petitioner is Rs.12,05,874/-, for the period from March, 2021 to May, 2023.

The writ petition is accordingly disposed of.
