Heard Shri S Nath, learned counsel for the applicants/writ petitioners who, by means of this application, has prayed for impleadment of new respondents.

It is submitted on behalf of the applicants that the parties who are sought to be impleaded are the selected candidates and any decision taken in the connected WP(C)/4467/2023 may affect their rights.

¶36

Also heard Shri SMT Chistie, learned Standing Counsel, Elementary Education Department, Assam as well as Shri K Mira, learned counsel for the respondent nos. 4 and 5, who do not raise objection to the aspect of impleadment.

After considering the facts and circumstances, this Court is of the opinion that the selected candidates ought to be party respondents and therefore, the present IA is required to be allowed which is accordingly done.

The incumbents, whose names and other details have been given in the IA, are accordingly impleaded as the respondent nos. 6 to 10.

¶39

The learned counsel for the applicants is required to file an amended cause title in the writ petition

¶40

IA accordingly stands disposed of.
