Heard Mr. S. S. Ahmed, learned counsel for the petitioner and Ms. M. Bhattacharjee, learned Additional Senior Government Advocate appearing for all the respondents.

2. Having regard to the nature of grievance projected by the petitioner, the writ petition is taken up for disposal at this stage.

3. It is the case of the petitioner that she applied for the post of Attendant/Grass cutter/Syce pursuant to the advertisement dated 31/12/2022 issued by the State Level Police Recruitment Board (Recruitment Board). However, the petitioner’s age was miscalculated due to oversight and was rejected on account of being over aged. The petitioner then approached this Court by filing WP(C) no. 2243 of 2023 which was disposed of by order dated 09/08/2023 directing reconsideration of the candidature of the petitioner. Since the order was not complied with, the petitioner filed contempt petition being Cont.(C) no. 712 of 2023, which was again disposed of vide order dated 02.02.2024, in view of the stand of the respondent that they will consider the case of the petitioner. Reconsideration of the petitioner candidature was done but despite the same the outcome of such selection is not known to the petitioner. The petitioner submitted a representation before the Chief Secretary, Government of Assam, on 18/03/2024, which was forwarded to the Inspector General of Police,

(Administration) (respondent no.3) on 09/09/2024 (Annexure 14). No material is available on record to show that the representation has been considered and at the same time, it is the case of the petitioner that the representation has not been considered and disposed till date.

In view of the above, the writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondent no. 3 to consider and dispose the representation submitted by the petitioner by way of a speaking order within a period of 4 (four) weeks from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order. The petitioner shall also submit a copy of the writ petition along with the annexures to the respondent no. 3.
