Heard Ms. R Devi learned counsel for the applicants.
This court under its judgment and order dated 12.02.2024 passed in WP(C) No.7373/2022 while allowing the writ petition imposed a cost of Rs.50,000/- upon the respondents with a further direction to deposit the same before the Gauhati High Court, Legal Aid Committee within a period of 4 (four) weeks from the delivery of the judgment.
The present application is filed seeking extension of time with regard to payment of cost. The learned counsel, however, submits that an appeal has already been preferred against the aforesaid judgment and order dated 12.02.2024.
That being the position, this court is of the view that prayer for stay of such direction can be made before the appellate court.
Accordingly, the instant I.A stands dismissed.
