has produced an order dated 31.10.2023, issued by the Principal Secretary to the Govt. of Assam, Panchayat & Rural Development Department, wherein, it is indicated that after an enquiry received from the District Commissioner, Karimganj, the allegations made by the petitioners are found not to be true.

In that view of the matter, we are of the considered opinion that the respondents have substantially complied with the order passed by this Court in PIL/45/2022.

Accordingly, contempt petition is closed. However, liberty is given to the petitioner to approach the appropriate forum if aggrieved by the order dated 31.10.2023.

The order dated 31.10.2023 is placed on record.
