This I.A. has been filed with a prayer to implead the opposite party as respondent No. 8 in the connected contempt case on the ground that he is the new incumbent in the office of the Directorate of Pension and therefore, is responsible for implementation of the Court’s order.

Mr. M. Nath, learned Sr. counsel assisted by Mr. A. Bhattacharjee, learned counsel appearing for the respondent Nos. 1 and 4 submits that he would not have any objection, if the prayer is allowed. However, the learned Sr. counsel has prayed for a week’s time to apprise this Court as to whether the pension papers have already been sent to the competent authority.

Mr. P. Nayak, learned standing counsel, Finance Department, Assam appearing for the respondent No. 3 and Mr. S. Dutta, learned standing counsel, Revenue & Disaster Management Department, Assam are present.

Considering the grounds stated in the I.A. the prayer for impleadment is hereby allowed.

The opposite party, viz. Sri Ranjan Borah is hereby impleaded as respondent No. 8 in the connected contempt case.
