Heard Mr. N Hoque, learned counsel for the petitioner. Also heard Ms. L Devi, learned counsel for the respondents no. 1 and 6 being the authorities under the Union of India and NRC, Mr. A Ali, learned counsel for respondent no. 2 being the Election Commission of India, Ms. A Verma, learned counsel for the respondents no. 3 and 5 being the authorities under the Home Department of the Government of Assam and Ms. U Das, learned counsel for the Deputy Commissioner, Jorhat.

By the order dated 20.12.2022 in WP(C) No. 8206/2022 the petitioner was granted 15 (fifteen) days time to appear before the Superintendent of Police (Boarder), Jorhat.

This interlocutory application is instituted seeking for an extension of the period of fifteen days granted earlier.

Considering the matter in its entirety the period granted to the petitioner to appear before the Superintendent of Police (Boarder), Jorhat is extended by another thirty days. But however, it is also made clear that if the petitioner does not do the needful, it will be open for

the respondent authorities to take appropriate action against the petitioner as per law.
