Heard Mr. S. C. Biswas, learned counsel for the petitioners. Also heard Mr. D. Gogoi, learned standing counsel, and Mr. A. Chaliha, learned standing counsel, appearing on behalf of their respective respondents.

The petitioners, 3 in nos., who are working as Muster Roll/ Work Charge employees in the Forest Department, Government of Assam, under the establishment of Forest Range Officer, Sila Forest Range, have filed this writ petition, for

regularization of their services as Muster Roll/Work Charge employees in the Forest Department, Government of Assam, along with other 24 left-out casual employees.

Regarding the claim of the petitioners for regularization of their services as Muster Roll/Work Charge employees in the Forest Department, Government of Assam, the petitioners have referred to a letter, dated 10.08.2017, written to the PCCF, Government of Assam, by the Secretary to the Government of Assam, Environment & Forest Department, whereby a committee for verification of the status of the left-out employees, was directed to be verified by a committee comprising of the names contained, therein, in the letter, dated 10.08.2017.

The aforesaid letter has been annexed as Annexure-9 to the writ petition.

Mr. Biswas, learned counsel for the petitioners, and the learned standing counsels appearing on behalf of the Departments concerned, submit that this writ petition may be disposed of at this stage with a direction to the respondent No. 3/PCCF, Government of Assam, to cause verification of the status of the left-out employees by the committee named therein in the letter, dated 10.08.2017, and thereafter, pass appropriate order(s) on the basis of the findings that may be recorded by the Committee.

Prayer made by the parties is accepted and accordingly, the respondent No. 3/PCCF, Government of Assam, is hereby directed to act in accordance with the contents of the letter, dated 10.08.2017, written to him by the Secretary, Environment & Forest Department, Government of Assam, and pass an appropriate order in that regard.

Since the matter pertains to the year 2017, therefore, the entire exercise is hereby directed to be completed within a period of 2 months from the date of receipt of a certified copy of this order along with a copy of the writ petition to be submitted by the petitioners within 10 days from today.

The order that may be passed by the respondent No. 3/PCCF, Government of Assam, as directed above, be communicated to the petitioners, forthwith.

The writ petition stands disposed of in terms above.
