Heard Mr. S. Bora, learned counsel for the petitioner. Also heard Mr. T. Gogoi, learned counsel for the Assam State Housing Board.

The petitioner’s grievance is that though the petitioner retired from service on 31.03.2020, the retirement benefit amounting to Rs. 9,91,374/- has not been paid to the petitioner till date.

Mr. T. Gogoi, learned counsel for the respondents, by referring to the contents of the affidavit-in-opposition filed by the respondents submits that the retirement dues of the petitioner would be paid within 12 (twelve) monthly installments.

The petitioner’s counsel, on the other hand submits that the petitioner needs some more money in the 1^st installment, inasmuch as, the petitioner is going to undergo a cataract surgery.

On considering the submissions made by the learned counsels for the parties and as per their consent, the respondents are allowed to pay the petitioner’s retirement dues within 12 (twelve) months, as follows:-

The respondents shall pay the petitioner Rs. 1,41,374/- as the 1^st installment within 15^th September, 2022. Thereafter, an amount of Rs. 77,272/shall be paid every month, within the 1^st week of the said months, starting from October, 2022.

The writ petition is accordingly disposed of.
