Mr. S. P. Das, learned counsel for the petitioner, submits that his client has
in the meantime vacated the quarter but he is aggrieved by the demand for payment of rent which is exorbitant and beyond the permissible limit. Mr. Das, therefore, seeks leave of this Court to pursue appropriate remedy against such demand.
Mr. B. Gogoi, learned Standing Counsel, GAD, has also confirmed that the petitioner has vacated the quarter. If that be so, this writ petition has
become infructuous in so far as the original relief is concerned.
The writ petition is therefore, disposed of as infructuous. The stay order
passed earlier shall stand vacated. The petitioner would, however, be at liberty to pursue appropriate remedy against the demand for payment of rent, if so advised.
